The  Rise Up Hot Air Balloon Festival is a family friendly event that will bring the community together at no cost to witness balloons soaring over our beautiful landscape in Medicine Hat and surrounding area. There are five flight times scheduled over the four days (weather permitting) and on Saturday, May 27, 2023 the Glow Event is scheduled!

During the Glow Event time slot, the hot air balloons will be tethered to the ground at sunset. Propane burners are ignited periodically to keep them inflated, illuminating the balloons and showcasing their beauty. At this time, spectators will have a chance to mingle and see the balloons up close.

Saturday’s Schedule of Events: 

12-8 PM

• Market on the concourse area of Co-op Place.
• Medicine Hat Public Library will be bringing 5 life-sized games to set up outside.
• Kids Zone hosted by Dunmore Dugout – Two FREE kids areas will be set up for families.  Additional high intensity games and rides will be available to purchase.
• 12 Food Trucks will be on site along the far east end of the parking lot until 10pm.

1-9 PM

• Live Music will be set up on the outdoor patio

6-8 PM

• Family-Friendly-Indoor- Movie the Chipmunk Adventure will be played on the Jumbotron.  Those little rascals race around the world in a hot air balloon!
